Moroccan Gastronomic and Cultural Experience
AFER Homelunch offers an authentic gastronomic and cultural experience. Visitors share traditional homemade Moroccan meals with local women, hear their inspiring stories, and see the positive impact of the project on the community.
Experiences Offered
Moroccan Lunch (1 hour): Enjoy options like roasted chicken with onion sauce or a vegetable tagine, complete with an appetizer, drink, water, and dessert. Small group cooking classes are available for groups of fewer than three.
Handicraft Workshop: Visit the Traditional Crafts Workshop to explore and purchase handmade textiles and leather items crafted by local women. Workshops are also available for travelers wishing to learn the techniques firsthand.
Cultural Experiences: Participate in a traditional tea ceremony and enjoy homemade sweets. Experience a henna tattoo session, where the cultural significance of each design is explained by a local specialist.
Lasting Impact on the Community
In partnership with Planeterra, AFER empowers rural women in M'Haya by generating income, building social connections, and supporting essential community services like education, healthcare, and disability support.
The association's community programs foster economic independence, cultural appreciation, and environmental stewardship. AFER’s training center provides annual cooking classes, welcoming 30 women and young people to earn diplomas recognized by the state.
